Thanksgiving, Half Birthdays and Photo Shoots

So I need to keep more up on this.  She keeps me busy and I would have to update it everyday to ensure I got it all!

She is sitting up better and better.  Only if she is reaching out for something does she tumble over.  She can go from sitting to her hands and knees very well now.  She is crawling backwards and hasn't quite figured out how to go forwards.  She can pretty much roll wherever she wants to go.  She is still a jumping bean and takes any opportunity standing up to jump.  She now gives kisses, of course on her terms and plays peak a boo!  I will have to get a video of it.  She likes to babble and talk, but it is usually to cover up gas or she is going poop.  We are convinved that she tells us "I poo", and that will be her first sentence lol

Eating is going very well.  We are now up to 3 meals  a day and trying all new kinds of things.  She has liked everything so far, but still isn't sold on the green beans or peas.  She especially enjoys the fruit but still eats her vegetables very well.

It was great to be home for Thanksgiving.  Her "little turkey" bib was definately very fitting for the day because she wasn't in the best of moods.

So on December 4th she had her half birthday!!  I can't believe how fast she is growing.  I spoiled with just a few presents.  And of course Mickey and Minnie wished her a happy half birthday!  Mickey is still her fav and she lights up whenever he is on and loves singing all the songs.  And of course she has to stand up and jump when the hot dog song comes on.

I took her to get her 6 months and christmas pics taken.  Of course she looked adorable even if we couldn't get her to smile.  It was a bit overwhelming and she looked at us like we were crazy with all our antics to try and get her to smile.  And yes she has a bow on her head, which I said I wouldn't do, but she looked so cute and I didn't want any mistaking for a boy!  Here is the link to her photos...

At her 6 month check up she was 14 lbs 12 oz and 25 inches long.  She is the perfect size!  Still has no hip or butt and we have to adjust her pants to fit.

She put out her little Nike shoes for St. Nick and got lots of great things for Christmas!

Right now she is really enjoying all the Christmas lights and decorations and loves to get down on her hands and knees and check out the gifts.

I am sure I have missed something but there will be more to update after her first Christmas!

Food, Family, Halloween and so much more

So it has been awhile since my last post and I feel like so much has happened that I am afraid I might miss something.  Her adventures in eating have continued.  So far we have tried bananas, apples, squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, peaches, green beans and carrots along with her cereal and oatmeal.  So far squash and sweet potatoes have been a hit along with the fruits.  Green beans and peas are not good, and I don't blame her.  She would open her mouth and eat them but she would either shiver as they went down or open her mouth and let them just run out.  I am proud of her for trying but I am not forcing it for now and it seems those foods upset her tummy anyways.  She enjoys eating and is learning to take big bites.  However, the first bite she just wants a taste to see what you are giving her and make sure she likes it.  The new high chair has been a big hit too!  She will sit there while we eat dinner and play with her toy.

More family has been in town this week.  Its great to watch her interact with them and she seems to listen so intently to what everyone is saying.  But when she wants her mommy, she wants her mommy.  And since I work late, she has been waking up in the night and she sees me and gets so excited.  She likes to sleep with mommy too.  I wouldn't mind so much if she wasn't such a bed hog.  I end up on the end of the bed with her curled up right next to me.  So we need to work on some better sleeping habits.  Also, she does take bit longer naps, but won't take them by herself quite yet.  She can entertain herself for longer periods of time and loves showing people how good she can jump and what all her toys do.

She had the flew bug for a day and was throwing up and running a fever.  That was not fun for me to watch and then I caught it.  She was down for a day or two but didn't seem to have problems after that.  Now we are dealing with some teething issues.  I am almost certain we will have a tooth before long because she is biting on everything.  And if she chews and hits a certain spot she just screams,  Growing up is just hard work!

Aubrey had her first Halloween.  I didn't take her trick or treating this year, because I do not need all that candy lol  We did carve pumpkins.  Mommy made her a Mickey Mouse pumpkin and she was a lady bug.  She enjoyed looking at the pumpkin and the decorations but I am sure it will be even more fun next year!

So I mentioned Mickey Mouse above.  She LOVES watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  I record it on the TV, we have it on the computer and I even have an episode on my phone.  She is so happy and content when watching it and even kind of moves to the music.

She is getting so strong and once she figures out how to get up on her hands and knees she will be moving!  She likes to stand up a lot too and has definately mastered rolling.  Her latest accomplishment is that she can sit up all on her own! She has a few tunbles still, but is pretty steady for the most part.

Its not always easy, but it is so worth it and so rewarding to see her accomplish all these things!  I just can't believe she is 5 months old already!  She can be a pill and lets you know when she isn't happy.  But her smile and her laugh, which I love, make you forget all the bad. :)

Yummy!

Adventures in eating

So Miss Aubrey recently was introduced to food.  I started her off with rice cereal.  Needless to say, she seems to love eating.  She knows exactly where the spoon goes and likes to do it herself.  At first I couldn't get it to her mouth fast enough.  It was messy to begin with, but she ate it all.  Started out at once a day, now we are doing twice a day.  So far now real change in the sleeping pattern, although she did take some good naps yesterday.   She has had some tummy issues trying to get used to food.  I think her eyes are bigger than her tummy.  Here over the next couple weeks I will be introducing new foods along with the cereal.  Right now we are using the bumbo, but her grandpa ordered her a brand new high  chair!

4 months old!

My baby is 4 months old!  I never believed people when they said they grow up so fast, but they truly do.  We went to the doctor and she is growing just right.  She is 12lbs 6oz and 24 inches long.  The doctor could tell that she was ready to start foods, so that is our next adventure.

I have moved her crib into my room and she is sleeping in it.  She is quite the night owl and likes to stay up late and fight sleep.  I started a new job and work in the evenings during the week.  So she is really excited to see me when she wakes up, even if it is 2am and she just wants to talk.  She is able to entertain herself for lots longer and has plenty of toys to keep her busy.  She is trying so hard to talk.  She recognizes her own name and it is only a matter of time before she truly gets moving.  She is creeping around and has mastered rolling very well.  She loves her bath time and enjoys getting to see her ducky at night.  She isn't content with just lying down and trys to sit straight up and loves standing up.

I took her shopping recently, which she really enjoys getting out and going places.  Hopefully we will get to do more of that.  And she enjoys the car as long as it is moving lol  But I had someone aske me how old HE was.  I was in shock.  I guess the purple pants and butterfly top weren't girly enough.  I am not a fan of bows, and I think she looks cute enough without them.  She sure gave them the busniess after they left.

I got her to laugh recently.  It was the cutest thing ever!  I haven't been able to get her to do it since though.

It is crazy to think that around a year ago I found out I was pregnant.  At the time I was scared, nervous, excited and didn't know where this all would take me.  I am now a proud mommy of a happy, healthy 4 month old.  It hasn't always been easy, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Photo Shoot

So we had Aubrey's 3 month pictures taken on September 14th.  She did good.  Couldn't get her big grin but she still looked cute!  We tried everything to get her to smile but she just looked at us like we were crazy.  She was more interested in looking around than looking at the camera.  We got the pictures taken at the right time though because she was really fussy the next day with some tummy problems.  And she is also drooling so much that her little chin is red and raw!  I am just waiting for those teeth to come in because she sure is chewing on things.  She has also discovered how much fun her toes and feet are.  She even helps hold her feet up when changing her diaper now.  She is defiantely going to be a mover and a talker.  She just wants to get up and go places!  She isn't the best napper all the time, but I will take that because she sleeps good at night.  I have also been trying to take her out in the stroller after dinner.  She really enjoys being outside and it is very relaxing and sometimes even puts her to sleep.

I went to Toledo for the Boise State game, and left Aubrey with my mom.  She did well.  I sure did miss her though!  And when I got home she was happy to see me and gave me that big grin that melts my heart.  She also seemed to have grown even while I was gone and has quite the tummy on her now.  I think she is finally getting too big for the 0-3 month onesies.  The next size is a little big but it won't be long!

Other than that, things are good.  I am enjoying watching her grow and can't believe she is almost 4 months old!  I want her to stay little but I also can't wait for all the things she will discover and how much she will change into her own person.

Here is the Sears link for all of her photos.  Enjoy!

3 months old

I can't believe my little girl is 3 months old!  I weighed her today and she was at 10.5 pounds!  I am not sure where the time goes but she is growing up too fast.  I had some paperwork issues with work so I am not working now for the time being.  I have really enjoyed the extra time I have got to spend with her and missed her a lot while I was working.  So for now I am enjoying every second with her!  I am going to have a true test of being away from her when I go to Toledo next weekend for the Boise State game.

In the world of Aubrey she has mastered rolling over and is now trying to crawl.  She can pull her knees up to her chest and push herself forward.  Once she figured out how to get her arms going at the same time, she will be crawling all over the house!  She has also been drooling a lot and  chewing on her fists.  I think she might be starting to cut a tooth, which seems early to me but I can feel it under her gums.  She has quite the attitude and lets us know when she is mad for sure.

Family came to visit for a few days and her schedule got screwed up a little.  Had some late and long nights.  Now we are back to normal.  I have created a bed monster and she only sleeps well when she sleeps with mommy.  Probably not the best habit, but for now it gets a full night sleep.

Also, I have discovered that she is definately my child.  She loves to watch football and even stayed up to watch the Boise State game. lol

Well that is all for now.  I am going to get professional pictures done here soon, so that will probably be the next post.

2 months old!

So Aubrey turned 2 months old on the 4th! I can't believe how fast she is growing. Everyday is a new adventure. On the 5th we had her 2 month check-up. She weighed 9lbs 6oz and was 22inches long. Perfectly healthy and no problems. She also had to get her first round of shots. This was definately no fun for me. It hurts me to see her cry but her little face and and big tears while getting 3 shots just killed me. She grabbed onto me tight after they were done too. I started to tear up. I am glad we don't have to do those all the time, and not looking forward to more of those at her 4 month check up. She had a low grade fever afterwards, but was still in good spirits.

I started going to orientation for my job on the 3rd. This was very hard to be away from her. But I know she was in good hands. This was my first full week of work and it was definately a long one. The first day I was there for 12 hours and when I got home she was fussy and then went to bed, so I got no real time with her. So I was upset, but then the rest of the week I got home a little earlier or went in a little later so I got to spend more time with her. And her smile makes me so happy when I get home. Doesn't matter how bad of a day it was, she makes it all right. So it has been hard on everyone moving around schedules, but everyone seems to be adjusting alright. Only 3 more weeks of this all day stuff and then I will get to be with her in the mornings!

Other than that she is becoming more content with being by herself and playing with things. She is getting better with her hands and able to grab for things. She can sit herself up, I don't know how her neck is so strong. And she likes to stand straight up and look around a lot. She keeps us all busy for sure. But she is still our little cuddle bug. I have to work on getting her in her own bed again. With me being gone, she likes to have me right by her side and holds onto my hand and keeps one eye on me until she is completely asleep! She is babbling even more and we all swear she already says ma! And we say her name and she watches very closely and trys to mimick what we do with our mouth.

Here are some pictures! Hope you enjoy :)

She loves eating her fists!
