Job

So little Miss Aubrey is growing like a weed! She still thinks she is a big girl and tries to sit up and stands up, supported, and holds her head up and looks around. She is also trying to make more noises. So I am not sure whether she is going to talk or walk first! She is sooo strong. She also seems to like people. She got mad at Quantico when no one was paying attention to her. She has discovered her fists and likes to try and shove them in her mouth. She is more content being by herself for longer periods of time and finds entertainment in her own special way. She now will sleep in her own bed, and actually sleeps through the night! Getting 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep is great. Next goal is to get her to take naps by herself, not pinning me to the chair, so I can get some things done during the day. It is hard for me to believe that she is almost 2 months old! Which means she has to get her shots. Not looking forward to that doctors visit. :(

So I most recently got a job. I will be the Associate Athletic Trainer at Robinson Secondary school in Fairfax, VA. I have mixed feelings about it. I want to work and get out of the house but I am not entirely ready to leave my baby! Especially this next month, I will be pretty much working full time with football. It is going to be quite the adjustment for both me and her. Once the school year starts it will be easier because I will spend the morning with her and have to be at work by 2 and then be home later in the evenings. So it is only part time, but I think it will be good all around and I will just have to cherish every moment with her even more than I already do!

Growing

I am honestly amazed by her everyday. She just turned 6 weeks on Monday and I can't believe that she has been in my life that long. All days with her aren't easy but it only takes one big smile from her to melt my heart and turn a crappy day into an amazing day! There are times when she just wants her mommy, much to my parents dislike, but it makes me so happy to have her snuggle in my arms and look at me with such contentment.

Most recently I have found out that she is a cat napper. She doesn't take many naps during the day and can get pretty fussy towards the afternoon. But this makes for a very long nights sleep. She usually only wakes up once in the middle of the night and then back up at like 6 or 7 and then she can sleep again til 9 or 10. So I am very fortunate in this aspect that she can sleep through the night and so can I.

For being six weeks old, she thinks she is a lot bigger than she is. She is trying to sit herself up and is working on mastering rolling over. She is much more coordinated with her hands and enjoys putting her fist in her mouth. She seems to like her left fist more, so we will see if she becomes a lefty. Hopefully as she becomes more mobile and is able to reach for more things she will be able to entertain herself more so I can get some things done and not have her pin me down to the chair.

My mom and I went up to the Dulles Expo Center this past weekend where they have a big consignment of baby things. We were able to find some great deals on some clothes, a baby mat, toys, books and a few other odds and ends.

I have the possibility of some work in the Fairfax County Public Schools. It will be nice to get out of the house, but it is going to be very hard for me to leave her!

1 month old!

So as you can tell I am not able to update this as much as I would like. In fact I am updating this while she is sound asleep on me and my computer in my lap lol She tends to keep me pretty busy and doesn't let me far from her sight.

Happy one month and Happy 4th of July!!

On July 4th, she turned one month old! (We told her the whole nation was celebrating her being a month old lol) We kept it pretty low key and just hung arounf the house and watched the DC fireworks on TV, which she fell before they started. She just keeps growing every day and amazing me! We went to the doctor on July 5th and she is healthy as can be and weighs 8lbs 3oz. I swear she is gaining it all in her tummy though and growing in length too.

Like I said she has quite the personality. She is beginning to coo more and is figuring out her hands. She is very strong and can hold her head up for quite some time and likes rolling from her back to her side. She has the cutest smile but when she is mad she can turn on that pouty lip like that. lol She is either mad when she is hungry, dirty or just wants mommy. And the whole household knows, she turns beat red and screams at the top of her lungs and when she really gets going she will completely stop breathing!

She had her first bath! (prior to being one month old) Wasn't quite sure how it would go, but now it is a nightly routine. She seems to enjoy bathtime, unless she is already mad. And she even made some bubble of her own the first time lol

Her latest accomplishment is sleeping in her own bed at night! She still only wakes up a few times during the night and I am happy to have my own bed back!
