Traveling and changes
So things have been a bit crazy here lately. I am currently in Virginia. Aubrey, myself and grandma made the 12 hour car ride from Auburn to Bristow on Father's Day. It was very hard for me to leave, but I know this is what is best for all of us and I am so grateful that my parents are taking us in and that they get to see their first grandchild grow. Aubrey loved the car and slept the entire time! We were going to stop half way for the night, but she was doing so well I was afraid to stop for fear that she would be up all night. So after several stops for feedings and diapers changes and food for ourselves, we made it to Virgina around 1am after starting out at 9:30am. It was a long day, very exhausting but good to sleep in our own beds. Suprisingly after sleeping all day Aubrey slept for quite a bit of the night.
So for now it is getting myself and Aubrey organized and set up in our new home. She is such a happy baby and I love her to death. She takes cat naps during the day and sleeps very well at night. In fact she slept for almost 7 hours the other night even with me trying to feed her in the night, she wanted nothing to do with it and went straight back to sleep. Sometimes sleeping in her bed is a struggle because she just wants to curl up with mommy.
We went to the doctor today and she is 7lbs 12 oz and is doing great! I am also doing very well, so I couldn't ask for more. Although she isn't even three weeks old, she thinks she is a big girl. She has mastered rolling from side to side, can push up and with her hands and hold her head up for awhile. She is also very fascinated with her hands and has managed to find her thumb to suck on. She also seems to like to punch things and has knocked me in the face a few times and herself as well. Other than that she enjoys looking at her surroundings and figuring things out.
No pictures this time, but that will be the next post!

One week old
Saturday June 11th, my baby is one week old!
Wow, how time flies! But I have enjoyed every second of it. :) I couldn't ask for a better baby. The first couple nights were a little rough. Mostly due to me worrying about her and having some trouble with feedings. But after that she began sleeping at night for 3 or 4 hours at a time, I know very strange, but I'm not complaining! She usually only wakes up a couple times in the night to feed, which is going much better. But she sleeps in the morning and is usually awake in the afternoon and evening. She weighed 6lbs 14 oz at her last weight check, but she has been eating very well lately so I am sure she will gain it back real fast. Other than that she is a pretty happy baby, she has her moments and will sure let you know if you aren't doing what she wants. She is quite the kicker and likes to stretch out real big. I am enjoying being a mom, and she makes it very easy to love her. My parents are still here and they are enjoying being grandparents and it has been very helpful to have them around. Who knew a little baby could take three people to help take care of.
I have one more week in Auburn and then I will be heading home to Virginia around the 20th of June. It's going to be a long trip, but she seems to enjoy the car and falls asleep very quickly.
First new outfit :)

She is here!!!
So sorry it has taken me so long to post, but Miss Aubrey Rae Lackamp is here!!
My due date of June 2nd came and went and no signs of Aubrey. I was beginning to get frustrated because I just wanted to see the little one! So I made a bunch of plans to keep me busy, hoping that she would decide to ruin them. Well my friend Lexi and I went to the mall and around 5:30 pm, I decided it was time to go home and go to the hospital because I thought my water had broke. We went to the hospital and after asking some questions and walking around for awhile they decided to admit me. Things we very slow going that night and I didn't think the end was in sight anytime soon. I got little sleep that night. Still in the early morning there wasn't a whole lot of progression so they started me on drugs to speed up contractions. Around 7 am contractions were getting stronger and I decided it was time for an epidural. The epidural speeded things up and things started to progress a lot quicker. Around 12:20 pm it was time to push because she was ready to come!

Everything went great, I was healthy, she was healthy. I couldn't have asked for more. And the fact that she was cute, certainly helped :)
My parents made it down to Auburn around 9pm on June the 4th.

I spent 2 days in the hospital and was able to take her home on Monday June 6th around noon.
