So it has been awhile since my last post and I feel like so much has happened that I am afraid I might miss something. Her adventures in eating have continued. So far we have tried bananas, apples, squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, peaches, green beans and carrots along with her cereal and oatmeal. So far squash and sweet potatoes have been a hit along with the fruits. Green beans and peas are not good, and I don't blame her. She would open her mouth and eat them but she would either shiver as they went down or open her mouth and let them just run out. I am proud of her for trying but I am not forcing it for now and it seems those foods upset her tummy anyways. She enjoys eating and is learning to take big bites. However, the first bite she just wants a taste to see what you are giving her and make sure she likes it. The new high chair has been a big hit too! She will sit there while we eat dinner and play with her toy.
More family has been in town this week. Its great to watch her interact with them and she seems to listen so intently to what everyone is saying. But when she wants her mommy, she wants her mommy. And since I work late, she has been waking up in the night and she sees me and gets so excited. She likes to sleep with mommy too. I wouldn't mind so much if she wasn't such a bed hog. I end up on the end of the bed with her curled up right next to me. So we need to work on some better sleeping habits. Also, she does take bit longer naps, but won't take them by herself quite yet. She can entertain herself for longer periods of time and loves showing people how good she can jump and what all her toys do.
She had the flew bug for a day and was throwing up and running a fever. That was not fun for me to watch and then I caught it. She was down for a day or two but didn't seem to have problems after that. Now we are dealing with some teething issues. I am almost certain we will have a tooth before long because she is biting on everything. And if she chews and hits a certain spot she just screams, Growing up is just hard work!
Aubrey had her first Halloween. I didn't take her trick or treating this year, because I do not need all that candy lol We did carve pumpkins. Mommy made her a Mickey Mouse pumpkin and she was a lady bug. She enjoyed looking at the pumpkin and the decorations but I am sure it will be even more fun next year!
So I mentioned Mickey Mouse above. She LOVES watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I record it on the TV, we have it on the computer and I even have an episode on my phone. She is so happy and content when watching it and even kind of moves to the music.
She is getting so strong and once she figures out how to get up on her hands and knees she will be moving! She likes to stand up a lot too and has definately mastered rolling. Her latest accomplishment is that she can sit up all on her own! She has a few tunbles still, but is pretty steady for the most part.
Its not always easy, but it is so worth it and so rewarding to see her accomplish all these things! I just can't believe she is 5 months old already! She can be a pill and lets you know when she isn't happy. But her smile and her laugh, which I love, make you forget all the bad. :)
