A year full of firsts

So once again, Aubrey keeps me busy busy.  There has been A LOT since my last post and I am not even sure where to start.  All I know is that I am truly blessed to have such an amazing little girl.  She brings a smile to my face everyday and I am very lucky that I get to be with her everyday.  She is quite the "mini-me" and I love it.  So I will try and use some pictures to help me remember it all.

We took a trip out to Kansas City for my cousins wedding.  It was a 19 hour car ride and she did great!  I think all of us were more tired than she was.  We had lots of great adventures on the trip.  It was great to see family and friends. She got to meet her cousins and be around some kids her age.  She was a bit unsure of all the people and stuck pretty close to mommy a lot of the time.  We celebrated her birthday a month early with family.  We had a minnie and mickey mouse birthday party.  She loved all the decorations, the singing and the cake. We were there for a couple weeks but it went by way too fast.  Everywhere we went Aubrey would drop food and then say "dog?"  she wanted to know where the dog was to clean up the food. lol  She also took her first steps while we were there!  It was great for everyone to get to see it.  She got braver and braver and would walk across the room to me.  On the way home we decided to stop in indianapolis.  She was so excited to get out that she ran around the room like crazy.  After that trip, I didn't get her in the car for awhile lol

At the end of May Aubrey's godmother, Lexi, came to visit for a couple weeks and help celebrate her birthday.  We had a great time.  We celebrated her birthday.  We took her to the zoo, which she enjoyed.  She loves animals!  She got a pool for her birthday and loves the water.  I have taken her to the community pool as well and she enjoys it and does fine going underwater, as long as it is her idea.

Along with turning 1 she gave up her bottles on her own, started sleeping at night on her own and would even lay down for naps by herself!  She got her own room upstairs which has been great for both her and mommy.  She was 18llbs 5oz and 28.5inches at her 12 month check up.

Once she started taking steps, there was no stopping her.  Now she is into everything, but is good bout playing with her toys and entertaining herself.  She is now trying to run some, which has led to some bumps and bruises.

She has a little temper on her and likes to hit sometimes.  So she gets in trouble on a daily basis for that usually.  But if she can scream it out on her own she is usually ok.

She has just recently got two more teeth showing through.  But at the rate she has been teething she should have a mouthful.  That seems to make her cranky a lot of the time.  She has learned how yummy teddy grahams and goldfish  are and likes to try our food.

She loves to giggle, do the rumba with grandpa, run from mommy and read books. She has quite the collection of books and will bring you them if you ask her to get you a book. She has to have her morning cartoons otherwise she gets upset. She is trying to talk more and at times she says some new words.  She is good at answering you when you ask her a questions, which helps figuring out what she wants.  And she has already gone potty in the big potty! Only a couple of times and becaue she wanted to and told us she did.  So I am sure the next time I am on here I will be potty training her lol

So I have a happy healthy baby.  She is turning into such a big girl and I love seeing the twinkle in her eye when she does things.  She has a smile that is hard to get mad at and she is a complete goof.

She loves to take pictures of herself and with mommy!

She was all decked out in green for St. Patty's Day.  She got some pretty neat things too!  Every holiday seems to bring great toys for her.

Being a ham.  She loves her Grandpa and loves watching PTI and Sports Center with him in his chair.

Hoppy Easter!

Eating some of her goodies!
The test run of her birthday cake, turned out great!

She LOVES lemon cake.  I figured this out with some weight watchers snack cakes.  Everytime she took a bite she would smack her lips.  Needless to say not many crumbs made it on the floor.

She got a swing for Easter.  She loves it!  She just giggles and yells and is very upset when she has to get out.
She is pulling up to everything!  She can stand very steady on her feet and can squat down to pick things up on her own.
Making a call on the road to Kansas City.  We took a 19 hour trip out there for my cousins wedding.  She was a trooper and made it there non stop!

At the wedding!

We celebrated her birthday with family.

She got her own cake to dig in to.  She had it everywhere!

A day at the zoo!
She loved getting close to the animals

She loves the pool!

9 months

So Aubrey turned 9 months about a week ago.  She weighed in at 17lbs 4oz and 27 inches long at her check up.  Her iron levels were a little low, but other than that she is healthy as can be.  She is cutting a number of teeth, both top and bottom.  She is becoing stronger and stronger and can now go from sitting to standing without holding onto anything.  She can stand up on her own for quite a length of time and you can see those wheels turning on how to get those feet moving!  The weather has been particulary nice a few days so she has enjoyed the outdoors.  I even took her to work with me, lacrosse practice, and she loved it.  They called for a team meeting and she proceeded to crawl and follow them to join the huddle! lol

She is trying new foods and getting more table foods to try which she seems to  like everything so far.

I took her to get her 9 month pictures today.  I figured it would be like every other photo shoot and she wouldn't want to smile for the photographer.  But it was quite the opposite!  She was such a ham and was eating the camera up.  She took so many great pics, everyone at the place said I was going to break the bank ordering pictures! lol (thank goodness for coupons!)  I love her in all her pics, of course, but these pictures I absolutely LOVE!  But I will let you be the judge too :)

Have to check out my facebook page to view them...

Here they are

Times are changing

So here it is almost March and I have no Aubrey updates!  Needless to say she keeps me busy and now that she is on the move, there is no sitting around. Yes, that is correct, she is crawling.  She has been crawling since the middle of January.  She was kind of slow at first but within the past couple weeks she can high tail it.  So we have learned a lot about what we need to baby proof.  Baby gates are up and and cabinet locks are on.

Not but a couple weeks later she started pulling up to things and standing up.  She does this with whatever she can get a hold of.  She now holds on to things and lets go and stands there for awhile.  And now she is a a climbing!  I turned around one day and looked back to find her standing on her toy turtle try to get on the couch!  She also stands up in her crib and looks at me and says "ma, ma" to try and get me up.  (This is of course if she isn't already sleeping in my bed)  She loves her mommy and she sees me all day but sometimes that isn't enough and has to share the bed with me.

She really enjoys music and likes to rock back and forth to it.  She has a pretty good beat.  So  now we are getting into nursery rhymes.  Her and grammie watch them on the computer at night before bed.  So far "Old MacDonald" and "Bingo" are here favorites.  As far as regular music she enjoys anything with a good beat.  But she particularly likes to get done to "Ice, ice baby" lol

Any day now we should have a tooth!  She had been teething for a long time and now she has some swollen gums and you can feel one cutting through.  Hopefully it comes soon because it changes her disposition and she isn't quite the happy, smiley baby likes she usually is.  Sometimes are better than others.  I have been giving different frozen fruits to help with her gums.  She loves most fruits but mangos and strawberries are her favorites!

I love watching her grow and seeing the little wheels in her head turn when she figures something out.  She has a laugh that is contagious (video to come later) and gives the best kisses.  There for awhile only mommy was getting kisses but now grammie and grandpa get them too.  And the dog! (Which she can say dog now)  Her stuffed animals get numerous kisses as well.  Some mornings I wake up to kisses from her and I always get one when I leave for work and can usually get one whenever I ask for one.  She gives me reason to smile and be happy everyday.  I can't believe she is almost 9 months old.

Well at the rate I keep up with this, she will be running the next time I update lol but hopefully that isn't the case.

Here are some pics to enjoy!

1st Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Making cookies for Santa, Mickey Mouse style!

So Christmas 2011 was a hit!  I think Aubrey did pretty good.  She had a great day and came out with some great new toys and clothes.  I always love Christmas, but it is so much more fun with her.  Just seeing her face and watching her eyes light up was so much fun.  We took it pretty slow and presents took all day to open.  She let us know when she was ready for a break.  But during the opening of them she enjoyed it and even got into ripping some of the paper.

Checking out the stuff in her stocking
Yay for Christmas morning!
Catching some zzz's between presents
Aubrey and all her gifts! And there is still a pile to the right of more things!
