So things have been a bit crazy here lately. I am currently in Virginia. Aubrey, myself and grandma made the 12 hour car ride from Auburn to Bristow on Father's Day. It was very hard for me to leave, but I know this is what is best for all of us and I am so grateful that my parents are taking us in and that they get to see their first grandchild grow. Aubrey loved the car and slept the entire time! We were going to stop half way for the night, but she was doing so well I was afraid to stop for fear that she would be up all night. So after several stops for feedings and diapers changes and food for ourselves, we made it to Virgina around 1am after starting out at 9:30am. It was a long day, very exhausting but good to sleep in our own beds. Suprisingly after sleeping all day Aubrey slept for quite a bit of the night.
So for now it is getting myself and Aubrey organized and set up in our new home. She is such a happy baby and I love her to death. She takes cat naps during the day and sleeps very well at night. In fact she slept for almost 7 hours the other night even with me trying to feed her in the night, she wanted nothing to do with it and went straight back to sleep. Sometimes sleeping in her bed is a struggle because she just wants to curl up with mommy.
We went to the doctor today and she is 7lbs 12 oz and is doing great! I am also doing very well, so I couldn't ask for more. Although she isn't even three weeks old, she thinks she is a big girl. She has mastered rolling from side to side, can push up and with her hands and hold her head up for awhile. She is also very fascinated with her hands and has managed to find her thumb to suck on. She also seems to like to punch things and has knocked me in the face a few times and herself as well. Other than that she enjoys looking at her surroundings and figuring things out.
No pictures this time, but that will be the next post!
